First Tourism Space Flight By Virgin Galactic Virgin Galactic is back in the news as it is taking on its next mission which is its first tourism flight to 'space' with private passengers today. The idea of space tourism for Virgin Galactic has been long in the making. Galactic 02 will take three passengers, a mother and daughter duo and an Olympian to the edge of space. The definition of the entry into space has some grey-area but internationally, the boundary between Earth's outer atmosphere and space is called the Karman line which sits 62 miles above sea level. Virgin Galactic is going by the U.S Government's suggestion of just above 50 miles.
