  1. Pangea SY30J Hybrid-Electric By The AirCraft Company
A Wichita, Kansas-based company is pushing ahead with its goal to offer a hybrid-electric, 30-seater regional airliner that it has named the Pangea SY30J. That company is simply called The AirCraft Company and it is a start-up wishing to integrate an Accessible regional carrier. This means, the goal is to be able to accommodate passengers’ wheelchairs inside the cabin which is something that does not happen in commercial aviation.
  2. The cabin will be large for the size aircraft with a 1-2 layout helping to give it the room to accommodate wheelchaired passengers. Although the cabin will be quite spacious which could potentially on its own suggest a more expensive ticket price, The AirCraft Company suggests it plans to offset that cost by having a much more efficient aircraft that is hybrid-electric as well as flown by a single-pilot. The aircraft is expected to perform on battery power alone on flights that are less than 250 miles in distance but can fly further on Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF). Further in the future, the company plans to have the aircraft's range-extending capabilities run on hydrogen rather than SAF. Currently SAF is the cleaner option. The aircraft will also be able to operate on runways that do not need to be long just requiring around 3,500 ft. Don't pin your hopes just yet as the preliminary timeline for an aircraft like this to enter service is 2029.
