Pilatus Commences Construction On Colorado Delivery Center
Swiss airframer Pilatus Aircraft continues to pour resources into the United States and particularly in Colorado where they have now broken ground on an aircraft delivery center. The new 50 million dollar facility will allow customers to be able to configure and customize their aircraft - PC24 or the PC12 turboprop-. “This new facility with an investment of $50 million will allow Pilatus to expand local engineering capabilities by creating more than 50 new, highly paid jobs,” said Pilatus Group CEO Markus Bucher. “Together, these functions will support Pilatus’ continued commitment to quality, innovation, and Swiss craftsmanship while ensuring an exceptional customer experience.”

The move also will solidify Pilatus presence in the United States. In fact, the company has been working to bring together its United States operations under a more formal entity. Earlier this year Pilatus consolidated its U.S. subsidiaries into a single entity simply known as Pilatus Aircraft USA. It seeks to harmonize its aspects and systems that is has around its American operations under a single banner. So far, its employee count number approximately 400. Outside of its Colorado-based American headquarters, the U.S. arm also has operations in locations such as Maryland, South Carolina, Florida and Georgia.

The new delivery center will also be built with LEED Gold certification in mind as well. photovoltaic panels will be incorporated into the structure to take advantage of the emerging sunlight. The site will not just be inspiring creativity and delivering aircraft but it will also be operating with a slightly smaller footprint than it would be if it was not built to the sustainable credentials.
