New Date Set For Bids On Piaggio Aerospace Sale In the latest round of information regarding Piaggio Aerospace, there is some movement expected for the start of the coming new year. The Extraordinary Commissioners attached to overseeing Piaggio's sale have set a new date for the next round of bidding by potential candidates. Extraordinary Commissioners – Mr Carmelo Cosentino, Mr Vincenzo Nicastro and Mr Gianpaolo Davide Rossetti - announced the rescheduling of the deadline to submit final and binding offers for the purchase of all the business complexes conducted by the Companies, both in extraordinary receivership proceedings.
30th January, 2024 is the new deadline for bids. The new field of candidates have been knocked-down to 13. Earlier this year, in May the opening of bidding recommenced and there were 18 expressions of interest from parties to take over the Italian airframer. Piaggio Aerospace is effectively two subsets operating under that banner. Piaggio Aero Industries and Piaggio Aviation form Piaggio Aerospace together.
For those who are not aware, Piaggio Aerospace went bankrupt 5 years ago. In December 2018, the company entered the extraordinary receivership proceedings with the appointment of Vincenzo Nicastro as Extraordinary Commissioner. The company still delivers their famed Piaggio P180 Avanti EVO pusher-prop aircraft as well as has some contracts for the maintenance of these aircraft.
