  1. New Supersonic Aircraft By Leap Aerospace
Another supersonic contender has leaped into the limelight. This time it's a supersonic jet from a company called Leap Aerospace with very ambitious plans and a slightly different approach. We have seen that trying to develop and certify a supersonic aircraft as a startup is a very daunting task with a few players, notably two in the last years being the stand-out contenders. Those are Aerion and BOOM but the former realized just how expensive the endeavor is. Aerion folded unexpected earlier this year leaving BOOM to be the remaining viable developer of a supersonic aircraft intended for the business jet/commercial sector. In fact their latest success was from a substantial United Airlines order.
  2. Leap Aerospace was founded by Priven Reddy. They are looking at making it available for a plethroa of applications such as as business jet, air surveillance, air logistics, tourism, emergency air operations and so on. As to when this concept is expected to fly? It is expected that the certification of Leap Aerospace supersonic jet will be finalized 3 years after the establishment of the flying prototype. Early numbers suggest that it is a Mach 1.9 aircraft that will fly at 60,000 feet and carry upwards of 89 passengers in its commercial configuration. First commercial flight service is penned for 2029.
