  1. Horizon Aircraft Reveals Cavorite X5 Demonstrator
A new Hybrid eVTOL test article has been seen in the open garnering some publicity. It is a test prototype from Horizon Aircraft and involves an aircraft incorporating 16 ducted fans! 12 of those fans are in the forward swept main wing while the other 4 are in the backward swept forward wings/canards. Rounding out the design there is a pusher-prop between the V-tail. In-house the vehicle is known as the Cavorite X5. As expected the prototype is not the full size the final aircraft is expected to be and only measures around 15-feet long with a 22-foot main wing span.
  2. Horizon Aircraft CEO Brandon Robinson said, "the prototype will yield valuable information that will help to reduce technical risk as we move forward with detailed design of our full-scale aircraft". The prototype is exactly half scale of the expected final aircraft so that should give an idea as to the size of the final Cavorite X5 -if that is also the final name-. The Cavorite X5 is getting its power from dual sources hence why it is a hybrid with electrical battery power as well as a gas engine.
