  1. First Full-Scale Embraer EVE Prototype Unveiled
Patrons at the recently held 45th Farnborough International Airshow (FIA) had the chance to see a full-scale prototype of Embraers' EVE eVTOL. With that showing, it also made the company the latest eVTOL enterprise to successfully field a full-sized prototype which now joins a list of global companies who have done so already. In fact, eHANG in China has been the first followed by U.S manufacturers like Archer Aviation and Joby Aviation. In Europe, Lilium and Volocopter also have full-scale prototypes flying.
  2. The Embraer EVE is being targeted for commercial operations by 2026 and will be flying up to 4 passengers as well as the pilot on short trips of around 50 nautical miles. Initially, the aircraft will be piloted but EVE suggests that in the future they will be transitioning to unpiloted/autonomous operations. The aircraft is equipped with a fixed wing with 8 propellers attached for lifting phases of flight (take off and landing). There is also an electric prop at the rear which will be responsible for pushing the aircraft along during the cruise phase of a flight. Unlike other manufacturers which utilize moving parts for transitioning from hover into cruise there are no changes in the position of these components during flight.
  3. Late last year (2023) the airframer got their proposed airworthiness criteria. This is an important regulatory step. They continue to work closely with the Brazil National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC). EVE suggests they have 2,900 Letters of Intent (LoI) for the eVTOL. The full-scale prototype was built in the Embraer test facility of Gaviao Peixoto, Sao Paulo State.
