  1. Cirrus Invests In Expanding Paint-Finishing Facility
Airframers are busy bolstering their facilities to ensure they continue to have the competitive edge. Recently we alerted you to the opening of a brand new paint facility that Swiss aircraft manufacturer Pilatus inaugurated. Now Cirrus Aircraft just opened an extension to their paint facility. The extension encompasses 16,000 sq ft and makes the entire paint facility 86,000 sq ft at present. This will help them further efficiently finish their SF50 Vision aircraft as well as SR-line of aircraft.
  2. "We are proud to expand the Cirrus paint and finish facility at our Duluth headquarters," said Cirrus Aircraft CEO Zean Nielsen. "These investments allow us to both meet the increasing demand for our leading-edge aircraft and create additional jobs in our local communities." Before, the paint facility engaged 130 employees, the new extension will require another 50 persons. The new Paint and Finish Facility expansion adds 16,000 sq. ft. to the existing center, yielding a 35% increase in aircraft spray capacity. The Cirrus Paint and Finish Facility expansion opened on June 15 and became fully operational on July 15, celebrated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
