Daher-Socata appoints Service Center for TBMs in Japan

DAHER-SOCATA today announced the appointment of Okayama Air Service Co., Ltd (OAS) as a TBM Service Center for the TBM family of very fast turboprop aircraft in Japan. OAS was created in 1988 for the maintenance of business aircraft in Japan. Today, the company offers a full range of services, including charters, maintenance, hangar storage, fleet management and interior completion at Chuba, Haneda, Kohnan and Okayama airports. Its long-time TBM experience started with OAS maintenance and operation of a Japan-based TBM 700, which included the qualification of a company pilot on the aircraft. Following its new appointment as a TBM service center, OAS is going a step further in the company’s relationship with the very fast turboprop aircraft.

Japan’s specific general aviation environment includes very stringent operating constraints – which explains why the market has been quiet for many years.” explained Nicolas Chabbert, Senior Vice President of DAHERSOCATA’s Airplane business unit. “As the business aviation market in Japan is showing new signs of strength, and because the TBM 700 and TBM 850 have proven they are well-suited to Japan’s specific general aviation environment, our partnership with Okayama Air Service will be instrumental in selling TBMs in Japan. Managers at OAS said the TBM 700/850 family of Very Fast Turboprops are well known in Japan for their outstanding performance-to-cost ratio, as well as their operational flexibility for the high density Japanese aviation traffic environment. They underscored their commitment to support the TBM in Japan and contribute to its success in the market.
