  1. WindRunner Expected To Steal The Show In Paris
The 2025 edition of the Paris Air Show is going to get underway in the next few days and usually it is an air show that one can see a wide variation of aircraft at. However, this year is slated to have the largest aircraft in the world on display. You would be right if you guessed the Antonov An-225 Mriya is going to be on show only thing is that the world's sole An-225 was destroyed in the early days of the ongoing dispensation of the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
  2. The next largest aircraft in the world isn't a second-place to the An-225, it is actually larger than the Mriya. Boasting a length of 356-feet from nose to tail (for comparison, the An-225 was 276-feet ), the WindRunner is significantly longer. The WindRunner is said to be about 40 percent longer than the Boeing 747. Radia Corporation will have the WindRunner at the show on the 16th of June marking its first public debut.
  3. The aircraft was specifically designed to transport enormous oversized cargo that cannot be carried by current freighters. For example, the cargo-bay capacity of the WindRunner is approximately 7,700 cubic meters. This compares to the Airbus BelugaXL's cargo area measuring around 2,209 cubic meters. While the BelugaXL is comfortable carrying Airbus commercial plane sections, the WindRunner will be utilized to carry oversized wind-turbine blades. Currently, large wind turbine blades are relegated to be transported by ship, rail and large road convoys. However, to get more power from the wind, turbines are becoming larger and larger and therefore the means to transport them need to become larger as well.
  4. Radia Corporation actually originally conceived the WindRunner specifically for transporting 344-foot wind turbine blades. However, given its cavernous cargo space, this will allow the aircraft to carry other oversized cargo too. The WindRunner is the world’s largest aircraft by length and volume. Be sure to capture the world's newest and largest aircraft. The next largest aircraft in the world holds that title via having the longest wingspan which stretches 385-feet. That is the twin-fuselage Stratolaunch. The WindRunner compares with a 261-foot wingspan.
