  1. Stratos 716X Debuts At EAA AirVenture 2021
The public debut of the Stratos 716X (experimental) is ongoing at this year's EAA AirVenture in Oshkosh, Wisconsin at the Wittman Regional Airport. The Stratos company is pegging this aircraft to be a 1,500 nautical mile jet with a ceiling of 41,000 ft. As it is experimental they are using a well-overhauled 3,600-hour TBO Pratt & Whitney Canada PWC JT15D5 turbofan. The name of the model suggests the major tennent of the aircraft 7 refers to the Mach 0.70 cruising speed, the 1 is the single engine and the 6 is the capacity of the cabin.
  2. The end goal for this aircraft is to have it FAA certified and offered to customers perhaps as a 3.5 million dollar aircraft. In its current form it is being offered as a kit aircraft. They plan to have 10 to 12 kits available next year and will utilize this as a stepping stone towards the end goal. As a kit plane they are suggesting that it will take approximately 9 months to assemble under the guidance of builder-assist affiliate firms. The aircraft sits squarely in the VLJ segment offering personalized flight.
