  1. Italian Armed Forces Add More Piaggio EVOs With Latest Order
Piaggio announced at the ongoing 2022 edition of the European Business Aviation Conference and Exhibition (EBACE) that it received an order for six Avanti EVO pusher-prop aircraft. The Directorate of Aeronautical Armaments and Airworthiness is who signed the order and deliveries will be made over the next two years. The Italian Armed Forces have been renewing their fleet of Avanti aircraft with new orders made back in 2019 as well as maintenance contracts.
  2. The new order for 6 Avanti EVO units is valued approximately €55 million which swells the pusher-prop airframer's backlog to €446 million. The company is still actively taking bids as the company is currently for sale. The last few years have given hope with the company attracting a number of bids from various buyers but none of them took the final steps to finalize the sale. The airframer has been operating under extraordinary administration with the guidance of the Extraordinary Commissioner Vincenzo Nicastro since it went into bankruptcy in 2019.
