Lufthansa Technik Delivers Second VIP BBJ 747-8 As usual, the general public will not know exactly to whom these giant private palaces belong to. We can tell you that the second Boeing Business Jet in the 747-8 model has been completed by Lufthansa Technik -fully outfitted and delivered- for an undisclosed client. These insanely expensive conversions and outfits take quite a while to achieve and realize but there is still a demand for them -albeit small-. Lufthansa Technik are working on a third 747-8 VIP BBJ to be completed in the near future.
You won't expect the company to talk about these projects in too much detail as the nature of the clientele and agreements prohibit this. However, the senior vice-president VIP and executive jet solutions, Walter Heerdt said, "We have handed over an individually designed, state-of-the-art aircraft fitted with high-quality materials to meet the most discerning demands in terms of exclusivity and comfort". The interior space onboard the BBJ 747-8 is enormous and encompasses approximately 4,740 sq ft. Bespoke materials were also used for the first time and having them work in the space was a challenge that was surpassed by the Lufthansa Technik team.
