  1. E1000 AX Unveiled By Epic Aircraft
The flagship E1000/GX model of Epic Aircraft just became better with the unveiling of the AX version of the aircraft. The E1000 AX now boasts Garmin Autoland and Autothrottle. Additionally, the aircraft comes with more than 25 new features and customers can choose from 8 new colour schemes. An example of the E1000 AX was on display at the recently held 2025 edition of the Sun 'n Fun in Lakeland, Florida.
  2. "The E1000 AX is a testament to our team’s passionate and ongoing commitment to adding automated, safety-enhancing tools and technology for pilots and passengers," said Epic Aircraft CEO Doug King. "We are dedicated to setting a new standard in safety, as well as performance and comfort." The two main headlines of the upgrades are in reference to Garmin's additions. Garmin Autothrottle, fully integrated with the G1000 NXi system, automatically manages engine power from takeoff to landing, ensuring optimal power settings and protecting against throttle rollback, overtemperature, and overtorque conditions. It also enhances safety by adjusting power in overspeed, underspeed, and engine failure scenarios while considering flap and gear positions.
  3. On the other hand, Garmin Autoland offers peace of mind for pilots and passengers. The revolutionary avionics system autonomously lands the airplane if a pilot is unable to fly. Passengers can activate Garmin Autoland with the simple push of an activation button. But if they aren’t sure where the activation button is located — or there are no passengers on the flight — Autoland can engage automatically when it determines the pilot is unable to fly the plane. Once engaged, Autoland will scan its options and choose the best airport for landing. It takes into consideration distance, runway length, fuel range and other factors to make this selection. After selecting a destination for landing, Autoland will head toward that runway while navigating around obstacles such as hazardous terrain or weather as it flies the plane and will automatically communicate its intentions to both the flight’s passengers and air traffic control. When the airplane reaches its identified destination, Autoland will land the aircraft and shut down the engine.
  4. Some of those 25 added new features include 8000 GWX™ 8000 StormOptix™ Weather Radar – Increases safety with real-time depiction of thunderstorms. 3D SafeTaxi & Taxiway Routing to increase positional awareness. Electronic Brake Hold to electronically apply the brakes to prevent aircraft movement. GRA 5500 Radar Altimeter – Increases positional awareness with above-ground (AGL) radio altitude. Garmin GDL® 60 with PlaneSync™ Technology that automates database updates therefore enabling remote access to check the state of your airplane and simplifies flight plan entry. True Blue Power® Intelligent Lithium-Ion Batteries. They delivers longer life, higher voltage during engine starts and reduces maintenance costs.
