  1. The Aura Aero Electric Regional Aircraft
Towards the end of September, French manufacturer Aura Aero attained several Letters of Intent signings with companies and airlines for their Electric Regional Aircraft (ERA). The ERA is a 19-seat electric aircraft that is in development presently and is not expected to come to service until 2027. The aircraft has been designed to allow multiple configurations that include, passenger, cargo and VIP cabin interiors. The aircraft is proposed to fly with 6 electric engines and the company has collaborating with Safran to make this possible. Following images are by Aura Aero.
  2. Safran Electrical & Power has also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to work with AURA AERO on conducting the electrical architecture studies for ERA, a 19-seater regional commercial aircraft with electric propulsion. These studies will focus on the high direct voltage propulsive architecture which will deliver the power needed for the electric engines. The jointly-conducted work will also include the “non-propulsive” electrical architecture, used to power the aircraft’s other systems. It is thought that several hundred orders will be placed for AURA AERO. The aircraft is slated to make its first flight in 2024, with entry into commercial service planned for 2027.
  3. Nine airlines have signed Letters of Intent for the three aforementioned versions. Afrijet (Gabon – 10 aircraft), Elitavia (Malta – 20 aircraft), DUX (Brazil – 20 aircraft), Flying Green (France – 10 aircraft), FMS (Switzerland - 10 aircraft), Twinjet (France – 25 aircraft), and three other airlines currently being negotiated expected to be announced shortly. Jérémy Caussade, co-founder and president of AURA AERO, commented, "We are happy and proud to announce these new orders for ERA, an aircraft that will enable, thanks to modern and digital technology, to transport passengers and freight in total safety, with an extremely low emission rate and an unbeatable business plan. We are convinced, more than ever, of the relevance of this aircraft in the implementation of a decarbonized aviation."
