  1. Desaer; MagniX Collaborate On Hybrid-Electric Solution
Ever heard of Desaer? It is a Brazilian airframer that is working on a regional type aircraft called the ATL-100 -a 19-seat regional commuter-. Additionally Desaer has collaborated with electric engine maker MagniX to create a hybrid version of the ATL-100, the ATL-100H. The turboprop will have it's normal two turboprop engines and add two MagniX electric engines. The goal is to have the aircraft take-off using the electric motors and fly the journey with the turboprop engines.
  2. They expect to save between 25 to 40% on fuel based on the operations range with the ATL-100H. The two electric engines for the aircraft will be a pair of magni350 electric propulsion units (EPUs). The other two turboprop engines will likely be the same to be used on the ATL-100 standard model. Desaer CEO Evandro Fileno said, "the ATL-100H and future versions of the aircraft will enable customers and operators to achieve carbon emission reduction targets while maintaining the low operating costs offered by DESAER’s ATL family of aircraft".
