  1. eFlyer 2 Near To Approval Status
Engelwood-based airframer Bye Aerospace is very confident that it is close to obtaining the necessary approvals to bring its electric eFlyer 2 towards service. The eFlyer 2 is a two-seater all-electric aircraft which if all goes to plan will be the first to certify under the FAA's Part 23 Amendment 64 for Level 1 electric and fixed-wing aircraft. As for reference the eFlyer 2 first flew back in mid-2018 and has been since perfecting the final efficiencies of the aircraft.
  2. Bye Aerospace suggested that the majority of its FAA-approved Means of Compliance and Certification Plans are concluded. There is one plan remaining to sign off and that will will form the basis for building a conforming prototype eFlyer 2. Once Bye Aerospace has the requisite approvals in their possession, Bye Aerospace can continue on with other parts of the final pieces to the puzzle. The partners who will be supplying aspects like the avionics and composite build materials can make those aspects to get the production test fleet going. The eFlyer 2 is aimed at flight-training initially but will naturally evolve into other commercial applications in the future.
