  1. Transport Canada Gives Green Light For Bombardier Global 8000
The latest stablemate in the large cabin, ultra-long range category for Bombardier, the Global 8000, has successfully secured regulatory approval from Transport Canada. This puts the newest jet on track for service entry before the end of the year. Bombardier's last large cabin and long range executive jet was the Global 7500 and the 8000 is essentially the latest iteration of that with a focus clearly square on their closest competition; Gulfstream and their G700 and 800 models.
  2. Down the line it is probable that the Global 8000 will replace the Global 7500 as it makes little sense to have both in production at the same time. The 8000 model will organically cannibalize Global 7500 market share as it is essentially a similar aircraft with a bit more capability. There are some advantages of the new Global 8000 over the previous generation stablemate. For passenger experience, the cabin altitude environment has now been officially reduced from the expected 2,900-feet at 41,000-feet to 2,691-feet at 41,000-feet which is the lowest cabin environment altitude of any production executive jet.
  3. The top speed of the aircraft has also been increased slightly from the initial projections. The MMO for the Global 8000 was MACH 0.94 but that has now changed to MACH 0.95 as confirmed by the airframer at the 2025 edition of the NBAA-BACE. Alongside the new Global 8000, Bombardier has also been busy creating retrofit kits for the Global 7500.
  4. This is a smart move to make given there are large numbers of operators of the Global 7500 in existence now. A slice of those owners/operators will be interested in these retrofit kits. Essentially it will make your Global 7500 behave like a the brand new Global 8000 without you having to fully change your existing aircraft. Powering the Global 8000 in high-speed operation are a pair of GE Passport engines. For the flying crew they will be using the Vision Flight Deck which is a Collins Pro Line Fusion suite, is in the cockpit.
  5. For passengers in the cabin, the aircraft is spacious regardless of the configuration but Bombardier is allowing four 'living spaces' in addition to the separated crew-rest area. Additionally, the comfortable cabin interiors will become even more comfortable when paired with the Pũr Air system that features high-end HEPA filtration and VOC removal. On the cabin lighting side of the equation, there is the Soleil circadian lighting system to help against the jet lag experience on long sectors. With regulatory approvals from the home-based Transport Canada, it is expected that U.S and European approvals will follow relatively soon so that Bombardier can commence international deliveries of the Global 8000.
