  1. Fiat Chrysler In On Archer Aviation eVTOL
An eVTOL that is in the works from new-comer start-up Archer Aviation has received significant interest from the Fiat Chrysler automotive (FCA) company. This interest though, so far is to provide the aviation company with composites and support engineering wise. It is not clear if this will eventually translate into big financial backing from the automotive giant. None-the-less it is yet another automotive company that wants to get its hands in the eVTOL space. Previous automotive companies like Toyota and even Hyundai have thrown their hat into the eVTOL space partnering with budding aerospace entities of this market.
  2. Archer Aviation has very ambitious plans to have an eVTOL aircraft in service by 2024. The idea for the aircraft surrounds an airframe capable of carry four passengers for a 60 mile range with with speeds approaching 150mph. The advantage to linking up with FCA is simple, access to the automotive company's vast knowledge and expertise in composite manufacturing, engineering and also low-cost supply chain. The renderings showcase a potential composite aircraft with a fixed-wing design carrying up to six tilt-rotor electric engines. It also will have a V-tail, similar to what you see on the Cirrus SF50 Vision Jet. The initial plan is to start production on the aircraft by 2023 with commercial service by 2024. Quite ambitious.
