  1. Rolls Royce Delivers 100th Pearl 15 Engine In Less Than 2 Years
The Rolls Royce Pearl 15 powerplant which powers Bombardier's new Global 6500 and 5500 wide-cabin executive jets has now surpassed the 100th shipment mark. The Pearl 15 was announced about three years ago (May 2018) and has been in service (September 2019) on the aforementioned aircraft approximately two years since entry into service. The new engine still fits within the same nacelle that houses the Rolls Royce BR710 engines of the Global 5000 and 6000 and this was key in helping to speed up the development time of the new engine.
  2. The Pearl 15 generates around 15,125 horse power offering up to 9 percent more power/thrust during climb while still giving overall further efficiency. "This engine delivery milestone is important for us—demonstrating the program’s maturity and confirming our confidence in the potential of the Pearl family," said Nuno Taborda, senior v-p of production programs for Rolls-Royce Deutschland. "I would like to thank everyone at Bombardier for their continued close teamwork with us to make this aircraft and engine such a great success." Rolls Royce is very busy with normal production of the Pearl 15 and previous engines like the BR710 but they also have new upcoming powerplants Pearl 700 and Pearl 10X respectively for the in-development Gulfstream G700 and the Dassault Falcon 10X.
