Eclipse on Track to Deliver First Eclipse 550 VLJ

The first Eclipse 550 VLJ is on stream for delivery this year. The engines have been started successfully on the aircraft and well they expect to paint and fit out the interior of the aircraft sometime in the next two months or so with an eye of delivery in the third quarter of the year. Following then if everything goes to plan, you culd see 10 to 12 of these 550 VLJs being delivered by the end of 2013.

Hello folks.

I have a question concerning the EA500.

I worked for Central New Mexico Community College from 2006 through 2011. I was the Colleges liaison for Eclipse Aviation which had its initial/original production facility (assembling the EA500) at the Albuquerque International Airport (Sunport).

Long story short…when Eclipse Aviation went toes up in 2008 (however temporarily) they left behind quite a number of parts for the EA500 that were being used to train their new hire employees...
A new class of jets emerging on the horizon is the VLJ, which stands for Very Light Jet. The characteristics of this new breed of jet aircraft include a weight of 10,000 pounds or less and are single seat piloted. They usually have twin engines, automated cockpits, occupancy for five or six passengers, the ability to land on 3,000 foot runways, and cost approximately half the price of even the economic business jets. In VLJ jargon,...
