  1. Dubai Completes World's First Vertiport
Vertiport infrastructure is essential for the growth and build-out of the future urban air taxi eVTOL fleet. As eVTOL development as well as certification advances on and eVTOL come into service there will have to be the appropriate facilities for these short-haul electric aircraft to operate to and from. The facility is a four-level structure that has two landing pads for the eVTOLs and an integrated passenger terminal.
  2. Skyports Infrastructure in cooperation with Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) announced that the world's first commercial vertiport has reached its technical completion. This is a big deal for the immediate future of eVTOL operations. In fact, Joby Aviation will be the first eVTOL to be operating at this facility as they are expected to commence operations in Dubai later this year.
  3. To support Joby's future operations at this Vertiport the facility is outfitted with Global Electric Aviation Charging System that was developed by Joby themselves to facilitate the charging of their eVTOLs. This first vertiport is located at Dubai International Airport (DXB). However, the second is currently under construction. The vertiport by Dubai International Airport will serve as the first and flagship operational node in a broader network that will connect key destinations across Dubai, with further nodes in development at Dubai Marina, Dubai Mall and Palm Jumeirah. The second node, at Dubai Marina, is currently under construction, with construction at Dubai Mall and Palm Jumeirah set to begin in the coming months.
  4. "With the world’s first commercial vertiport now being in a technical position to take eVTOL flights, we are seeing aviation history in the making. After years of planning and in depth design, this new class of infrastructure brings together the latest technologies and innovations that will change how people move around their cities", Duncan Walker, CEO, Skyports Infrastructure.
