  1. Wisk Aero; Eve Make First Flights Of Full-Sized Prototypes
The eVTOL market is still buzzing with activity. We know both Wisk Aero and Eve within the Advanced Air Mobility space for a long time now but the two companies are pushing ahead with their full-sized demonstrators in flight testing. Wisk Aero with their Gen 6 full-scale 4-seat demonstrator has made its first flight recently. Wisk Aero is a Boeing-backed company while Eve is an Embraer-backed company.
  2. Eve's full-sized 4 passenger eVTOL has also recently made its first flight which was an uncrewed hover at the company's Sao Paulo facility. Eve is looking to have this aircraft certified in 2027. The timeline will look like a continuation of flight testing throughout the majority of 2026 while incrementally expanding the operational envelope. This will ultimately move it from hover testing to wing borne transitional flights which eVTOLs need to be able to perform from take-off to forward flight and the reverse when landing. Eve is expected to produce 6 fully-conforming prototype aircraft for testing as it works towards certification from the Brazilian authorities. The Eve-100 4-seat eVTOL will then enter service.
  3. Wisk Aero on the other hand has its latest generation 6 in testing now after making its initial flight at the company's Hollister, California site. As it was the first flight, it was limited to hovering and gather data on stability and performance during hover. “This first flight is the moment our team has been working toward, and it is a powerful demonstration of the work, expertise, and commitment that have gone into the Gen 6 program,” said Wisk CEO Sebastien Vigneron. “Seeing Gen 6 take flight is an exciting moment for Wisk and the future of aviation. It reaffirms our belief in autonomy, and we are even more energized to continue the journey to bring safe, everyday flight to everyone.”
  4. The Generation 6 is not new when it was unveiled to the world back in 2022 however, back then it was in sub-scale form. What flew recently for the first time is the full-sized aircraft that will be sold to customers. Up to 4 passengers will be able to fly onboard for up to 90 miles at between 2,000 to 4,000 ft with speeds up to 120 knots.
