SLI Signs For BETA Technologies CX300 SLI or Space Leasing International, part of the Libra Group is best known for their work in the space industry particularly in the provision of asset financing solutions for satellites and ground stations. However, the company is looking to broaden its leasing portfolio and none better than purchasing 25 CX300 electric planes from BETA Technologies. The CX300 is a Conventional Take Off and Landing electric aircraft and is one of two electric planes BETA Technologies manufacture - the other is the ALIA 250 which is the eVTOL version-.
The two aircraft are nearly identical but can be used for different purposes. Both can fit in one pilot and 5 passengers or up to 1,240 pounds of cargo, and they can be configured as an air ambulance. The CTOL model (CX300), if all goes according to plan is expected to be certified before the end of this year. That model has shown it has a maximum demonstrated range of 336 nautical miles.
Our Alia platforms are designed to support everything from sustainable business and leisure travel to essential missions like disaster response, firefighting, and humanitarian aid, answering the wide range of critical and commercial applications SLI manages," said Beta sales lead Patrick Buckles.
"Their platform’s versatility unlocks not only commercial and leisure travel but also high-impact use cases like disaster response, firefighting, and humanitarian missions," said Praveen Vetrivel, CEO of SLI. You might remember that flight that BETA did from JFK. Vetrivel recently flew as a passenger on BETA's CX300 on that 33-mile flight from New York City’s John F. Kennedy International Airport.
