Hydrogen-Powered Celera Aircraft In Development By Otto Aviation Otto Aviation who we know for developing the Celera 500L aircraft says they plan to make a hydrogen-powered version of the Celera that will carry around 19-passengers and have a 1,000 nautical mile range. The original Celera 500L is pegged to have a range of up to 4,500 nautical miles powered by pusher-prop connected to 500-hp Red A03 diesel engine.
For the Celera 750L that will be hydrogen-powered Otto Aviation is looking to use ZeroAvia's ZA600 hydrogen-electric powertrain as an alternative propulsion to the Red A03 diesel engine. To kick the ball rolling on testing and integration ZeroAvia should start flying a 19-seat Dornier 228 testbed aircraft that is fitted with the 600-kW ZA600 powertrain. The current Celera 500L is expected to enter service in 2025. In 2027 Otto Aviation plans to bring a zero-emissions variant to the market. There is no more information divulged on the larger Celera 750L. For more information: Otto Aviation www.ottoaviation.com ***
