  1. JCAB Certifies Piper's M500 Aircraft
The Japan Civil Aviation Bureau (JCAB) has awarded type certification to the Piper M500. It’s something fairly special for Piper Aircraft as the certification marks the first time that a Piper Type Certificate has been fully validated in Japan. Basically the validation will open-up a new region for the piston and turboprop aircraft manufacturer.
  2. “M500 validation is excellent news for Piper and our prospective customers in Japan,” said Piper President and CEO Simon Caldecott. “We are excited to serve this new market. From a mission standpoint, the M500 is the perfect aircraft to address the unique transportation needs of Japan, given its geographic orientation and surrounding islands.”
  3. The Piper M500 features the latest in Garmin G1000 avionics, enhanced safety features, and a number of other significant product improvements. The six-place M500 is powered by a Pratt & Whitney PT6A-42A 500shp engine, sports a 260 KTAS / 482 km/h max cruise speed and has a range of 1,000 nm / 1,852 km. Equipped with an improved Garmin G1000 avionics suite the M500 features the most advanced safety features available in any single engine turboprop aircraft.
