  1. Piper M600 Service Entry Delayed To Third Quarter 2016
The top-of-the-line Piper M600 has had some ‘challenges’ in coming to the market. The aircraft should already be shipping to clients but Piper has announced a push back on service entry for their brand new six-seater turbo-prop aircraft. Deliveries are expected to happen in third quarter of this year as a result of problems related to the certification process.
  2. This aircraft was unveiled to the world in April of 2015 and technically should have come into service at the end of 2015. The aircraft has been modeled after the new M500 with a few advancements and updates. The wing design is slightly different as well as having an updated interior and more efficient fuel-management system which aids in the aircraft having a minimum range of 1,200 nautical miles based on minimum payload scenarios.
  3. A 250-knot maximum operating speed is essential for this aircraft as that is what owners and operators have been asking for but during much of the testing so far, the M600 has not been able to hit that threshold consistently. Therefore Piper has had to make some modifications to allow this to become a running reality. The aircraft has exceeded their expectations in terms of range offering a maximum distance of 1,441 nautical miles. This aircraft is powered by a Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A-42A engine and can cruise at a speed of 274-knots (true airspeed). MTOW (maximum takeoff weight) for the new Piper M600 is set at 6,000 lbs.
