  1. One Aviation Unveils Eclipse 'Canada' Jet
One Aviation's Eclipse brand is trying to reinvent the very popular Eclipse 550 by giving it some upgrades and new features. From the exterior one of the first differences you will notice in the New Eclipse 550 -which by the way is being called the Eclipse 'Canada'- is the shedding of the tip tanks. The Canada model will have winglets to reduce the drag and increase range. The flight deck is also in for a change with Garmin G3000 avionics. The wings are set to be a bit longer as well, approximately four feet longer than on the 550.
  2. The Project Canada offering will have higher thrust engines as well using PW615s from Pratt & Whitney Canada. These will be offering 1,170 lbs of thrust each compared to the normal 980 lbs of thrust each on the Eclipse 550 using PW610s. In the cockpit the Garmin G3000 avionics suite is expected to include synthetic vision, a GFC 700 autopilot, Garmin ESP protection system and LNAV and VNAV. There will be ADS-B and it will be RVSM compliant. The range is increased thanks to a slightly improved wing design. The wingroot area has been increased and made longer and thicker which translated into a bigger fuel tanks. Below is a photo of the current Eclipse 550 and above is a render of the new Project Canada.
