  1. Phenom and E2 Seat-Manufacturing Plant Opens In Florida
Brazilian airframer Embraer has widened its presence in the United States and more specifically Florida with the establishment and opening of a dedicated seat-manufacturing plant for its Phenom and E2 jet models. The new 50,000 square foot plant is located in Titusville, Florida and was opened on September 19th, 2016. The Embraer Aero Seating Technologies facility will focus on manufacturing all seating for Embraer's Phenom light jets and first-class seating for the new E-190E2 airliner.
  2. To understand how this has all happened...Embraer initially acquired a minority stake in Irwindale, California-based Aero Seating Technologies in 2011 but then fully bought out the company last year when they decided they were going to go forward with building the 50,000 square foot plant in Titusville. “Having spent nearly 50 years designing and developing aircraft for various markets, Embraer recognizes the distinct importance of the aircraft seat—the ultimate customer touch point. That’s why we made the strategic decision to bring this expertise in-house,” Embraer CEO Paulo Cesar de Souza e Silva said.
