  1. FAA Certification Late 2017 For Citation Longitude
    The Cessna Citation Longitude test program is going well. The program has amassed over 450 hours so far using four test aircraft. The latest Longitude test bed, the fourth article was on display at the recently concluded 2017 edition of the European Business Aviation Conference and Exhibition (EBACE). That aircraft was fitted with a full production interior. Most of the parameters of the program have been successfully done and a fifth and final aircraft is anticipated to join this Summer.

Textron suggests that the Citation Longitude will be certified by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in late 2017 and then be certified by the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) in 2018. “We are confident that the Citation Longitude will set the new standard in business aviation with its incredible cabin comfort, low operating costs, long maintenance intervals and combination of speed and range,” said Rob Scholl, senior vice president, Sales and Marketing. “Throughout the flight-test program our test pilots have been reporting that the Longitude is the best flying Citation to date. Now, with this full interior test aircraft, we’re able to showcase its class-leading and incredibly quiet cabin experience.” With a range of 6,482 kilometers (3,500 nautical miles) and full fuel payload of 726 kilograms (1,600 pounds), the Longitude is poised for the European market by connecting city pairs such as London to Dubai, Paris to Boston or Geneva to New Delhi.
