Embraer announced recently that Germany-based charter operator Air Hamburg is the launch customer for the new Legacy 650E. Air Hamburg will expand its Embraer business jet fleet with an additional order for three new Legacy 650E. The contract has a value of USD 77.7 million, based on current list prices, and will be included in the Company’s 2017 second-quarter backlog. The aircraft fleet delivery is scheduled for the third quarter of this year. The agreement was announced on the opening day of the 17th European Business Aviation Convention and Exhibition (EBACE) in Geneva, Switzerland.“We are very pleased with this new order from Air Hamburg, which will further propel their growth through exceptional operational costs and a superior customer experience with the Legacy 650E’s unique three-zone cabin and abundance of amenities,” said Michael Amalfitano, President & CEO, Embraer Executive Jets. “The Legacy 650E’s unmatched value proposition results in the productivity and efficiency sought by global charter operators and corporate flight departments.”

Embraer has witnessed a growing interest in the Legacy 650E by charter operators. As one of Europe’s largest business jet service providers, Air Hamburg added one Legacy 500 as well as one Phenom 300 to their fleet, earlier this year, totaling 11 Embraer aircraft, with eight Legacy 600/650, one Legacy 500 and two Phenom 300.“The Legacy 650E is an obvious choice, considering the unparalleled experience that our current fleet of Legacy 600/650 already provides our customers on their flights to destinations throughout Europe, Russia, and the Middle East,” said Simon Ebert, Partner, Air Hamburg. “The new version of this proven platform best serves our growth plan by continuing to offer a premium charter service with the latest technologies onboard one of the industry’s most comfortable and reliable business jets.”

Embraer is displaying the E195-E2 at this year's Paris Air Show...and they are making it stand out among the crowd of aircraft on the static display. The 'Profit Hunter' aircraft has had a special eagle motif added to the front perhaps to draw people's attention more to the next gen jet.

Tamarack says it plans to offer its active winglets for the Embraer Phenom 100. They suggest that the winglets would aid in the Phenom 100's 'hot and high' performance, allow for more payload and an increase of range.

    Embraer Maximum Braking Energy

Braking Energy Test Paves the Way for Certification. Certification of the E190-E2 is within sight now that this critical test - and one of the last - has been completed. The test measures the ability of the aircraft’s brakes to absorb the kinetic energy produced from stopping after a rejected takeoff at maximum weight and speed. The E2’s brakes easily handled the stress. The results confirmed the aircraft’s robust design and excellent performance.

Embraer is expecting certification for their E190-E2 in a few weeks (two weeks actually). The latest iteration of the E190 was announced at the Paris Air Show back in 2013 and is now on the cusp of certification. The first one will be delivered to Norwegian customer Wideroe who expects to press the first jet into service on April 24th. The Embraer E190-E2 is a re-engined and re-winged variant of the original E190 and carries a pair of PW1900G powerplants. The Honeywell Primus Epic second generation avionics are in the cockpit.

Embraer commercial delivered below its expectations in 2018. The company expected to ship between 105 and 125 for the year but when the year closed only 91 jets were delivered. The Embraer E175 represented a large swath of the deliveries with the number representing 67. The new E190-E2 only had four deliveries along with 13 regular E190s.

The Embraer Executive Jets Service Center in Sorocaba, Brazil, performed the first complete renovation of a Legacy 600 business jet. The aircraft was purchased in the Middle East by a South American customer who chose to customize the whole aircraft with a new interior, systems upgrades and a new paint scheme. This Legacy 600, built in 2006, has received new seats, carpets, ceiling material, side panels as well as a new varnish hue for all the furniture. The galley received new flooring and the divan and curtains now have new fabrics. The service team also performed an overhaul of the landing gear and the installation of ADS-B Out (Automatic navigation and aircraft tracking data transmission technology), along with a GPS upgrade. The company’s service center in Sorocaba started the Interior Shop implementation project in 2018 to expand the portfolio of services offered to Embraer Executive Jets’ customers. The Sorocaba Service Center is part of the TechCare platform, which offers the best integrated service and support solutions, from small repairs to fully customized services like this interior renovation, meeting customers’ highest standards.

Embraer has received type certification for the E195-E2. The first production example will be delivered to launch customer Azul Airlines in Brazil although a specific delivery date has not been mentioned. Azul has over 50 of the type on order from Embraer to replace their first generation E-jets. The E195-E2 will carry up to 146 seats but it is unclear how Azul has configured theirs at this point.
