The Embraer Executive Jets Service Center, in São José dos Campos, São Paulo, was named an authorized Rolls-Royce line maintenance center for the AE3007 engines in Brazil. The agreement allows Embraer to perform Rolls-Royce’s warranty or CorporateCare® program services, which covers the cost of replacement parts, labor, as well as scheduled and unscheduled maintenance. The ERJ 145 family of jets and the Legacy 600/650 use AE3007 engines.

“The new partnership between Embraer and Rolls-Royce seeks to assure efficient operations and convenience for our customers,” said Edson Carlos Mallaco, Director of Customer Support and Service – Embraer Executive Jets. “We are constantly investing in providing services in the region through integrated solutions and a highly qualified team. We hope to exceed the expectations of our operators.”

Embraer has booked a firm order from US regional operator Republic Airways for 50 next-generation E-175 aircraft. The deal, which will be included in Embraer's order book for the third quarter, is valued at USD$2.1 billion, the plane maker said in a securities filing. The planes will be operated by United Airlines under the United Express brand, Embraer said, adding it comes on top of the company's deal with Republic in January 2013, when it signed a firm order for 47 E-175s with 47 options.

Gol, Brazil's second-largest airline, is in final talks to buy an undisclosed number of aircraft from Embraer, a local newspaper reported. Negotiations started seven months ago and have reached a final stage that includes the discussion of pricing and payment conditions, Valor Economico said. The deal would be a setback for Boeing, Gol's exclusive plane supplier for now. Valor said Gol had confirmed talks with Embraer.

"At the moment, (Gol) is studying the possibility of buying jets from the new Embraer E2 family," Valor quoted the airline as saying. "Those jets would be employed in routes that justify the use of planes with 130 to 140 seats." An Embraer spokeswoman said the company did not comment on possible deals.

Embraer broke ground today on its Legacy 500 and Legacy 450 assembly complex here in Melbourne, Florida. At the ceremony, which included Florida Governor Rick Scott, Brevard County and city officials, the Company celebrated this significant addition to its existing 212,000 square-foot campus at Melbourne International Airport.

“With the support of Governor Scott together with his team at Enterprise Florida, the Space Coast Economic Development Commission, Brevard County, the City of Melbourne, and the Melbourne Airport Authority, we are doubling the size of our Executive Jets campus in the US with the addition of these game changing aircraft assembly facilities to the already operational Phenom assembly line,” said Embraer President and Chief Executive Officer Frederico Fleury Curado. “Furthermore, our recently inaugurated Embraer Engineering and Technology Center, the first engineering center outside Brazil, shows the strong level of commitment to our customers as well as our faith in this remarkable community.”

The new 236,000 square-foot facility is expected to be operational by 2016. It will feature four new buildings: an assembly hangar, a paint facility, a completion center and flight preparation facility, and a new dedicated delivery center.

So a couple days ago we did this PR from Embraer

    http://www.jetforums.net/threads/embraer-delivers-first-legacy-500-business-jet.1371/

Now as I check Flight Radar 24 I spotted an Embraer Legacy 500 with Brazilian registration... heading north from Brazil. The Press Release said the first Legacy 500 was delivered to a Brazilian company. So is it possible that this is the same aircraft... perhaps going North maybe to the NBAA to be displayed?

Brazil's Azul will cancel or postpone deliveries of Embraer regional jets if parliament does not drop a change in a new aviation law. The proposed change to a bill drawn up by President Dilma Rousseff would remove the competitive advantage of jets made by Embraer on less profitable regional routes the government wants to expand.

"What's happening is a distortion of the plan so that it's more attractive to fly bigger planes," said Azul chief executive Antonoaldo Neves. He said he would look to add bigger aircraft made by Boeing or Airbus. Neves said an order for 30 of Embraer's next-generation E195-E2 aircraft, which enter service in 2019, hangs in the balance. He would also have no need for eight of the current generation E195s due for delivery in 2015.

Anyone have more information on this accident?

Preliminary details of the Phenom 100 runway excursion on November 21 at the Houston-area Sugarland Regional Airport indicate the runway might have been wet when the jet touched down. The aircraft was landing after a short flight from Houston Hobby when it failed to stop and left the hard surface of Runway 35. The aircraft slid down an embankment into a creek.

Embraer is supplying its first aircraft to an Indonesian airline as cost-conscious Southeast Asian carriers seek smaller planes to serve the region's second-tier cities more efficiently than large aircraft. Embraer said that Kalstar Aviation, based in Indonesia's Kalimantan province, is leasing two E-195 planes from Ireland's Aldus Aviation. Embraer has nearly 200 commercial planes in service in Asia Pacific with 20 operators. Though small, the Kalstar deal comes as competition intensifies in the regional jet market, with Japan's Mitsubishi Aircraft entering a segment where Canada's Bombardier also operates. Last February, Embraer clinched its first major Indian deal for 50 aircraft, valued at USD$2.94 billion, from start-up Indian carrier Air Costa.

Embraer deliveries for the first quarter of 2015 stood at around 32... (20 commercial and 12 executive) and this compares to 34 (14 commercial and 20 executive) in the first quarter of 2014. However, the last quarter of 2014 yielded 82 deliveries (52 executive and 30 commercial) so from that standpoint... Embraer is off to a bit of a slow start for the year.

Deliveries for Embraer’s Executive dropped by approximately 40 percent during the first quarter in 2015. Revenues were down 37 percent. Of course, this is compared to the same period for 2014. The company handed over only twelve executive jets in Q1 while for the same period in 2014, the number stood at 20. Embraer's year total forecast is calling for deliveries of around 35 and 40 large jets, and approximately 80 to 90 light jets during 2015.
