There isn't a dedicated Daher-Socata thread so I created one.

First off if you look at their website you will see that they say they are offering 2013 models for 2012 prices! Dangling the carrot are they?

DAHER-SOCATA is a key participant at this weekend’s major air show celebrating the 60th anniversary of the Patrouille de France – the French Air Force’s official aerobatic team. With DAHER-SOCATA’s invited guests joining some 100,000 public spectators, the Patrouille de France will present its new 2013 flight program alongside the top European aerobatic jet teams and aircraft of the French Air Force, during the May 25-26 event at Salon-de Provence in southern France. The Patrouille de France’s partnership with DAHER-SOCATA began last year when the company collaborated on a film produced and directed by Eric Magnan and François-Olivier Robin of Airborne Films. The scenes include formation flights of the aerobatic team with some of France’s leading aircraft, including the TBM 850 very fast turboprop. A DVD version of this film will be officially released during next month’s Paris Air Show. A preview of the film is available at: www.patrouilledefrancelefilm.com

Several of the film’s scenes were shot last September while the Patrouille de France was at Tarbes, France – the DAHER-SOCATA headquarters location – in one of the aerobatic team’s annual air show presentations. During its presence, the Patrouille de France was joined in flight by a TBM 850, with the air-to-air filming performed by DAHER-SOCATA’s TBM Multi-Mission Aircraft (MMA) demonstrator developed for ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance) applications. For this flight, the TBM-MMA was reconfigured to carry Airborne Film’s cameras in place of the aircraft’s under-fuselage sensor turret, while a camera was installed under the wing.

With a growing share of activities in the service of France’s national defense and its air force, DAHER-SOCATA fully supports the Patrouille de France film project, along with the meeting in Salon-de Provence that marks the team’s 60th anniversary,” explained Stéphane Mayer, the President and CEO of DAHER-SOCATA. "In addition, seeing the TBM 850 flying in formation with this famous aerobatic team is a great honor for our entire organization and our customers. This exceptional operation highlights our flagship products – the TBM 850 and the TBM Multi-Mission Aircraft – whose performance allows them to fly with the Patrouille de France’s Alpha Jets," added Nicolas Chabbert, Director of DAHER-SOCATA’s Aircraft Division. "It also provided a real opportunity to demonstrate the TBM MMA’s video platform capabilities, which opens other interesting possibilities for the aircraft.

DAHER-SOCATA today announced its FRA 145 approval by the French government, which confirms the company’s ability to maintain state-owned aircraft. This certification applies to DAHER-SOCATA in full operational support of the company’s TBM 700 turboprop aircraft at its sites in Tarbes and Le Bourget, France. The approval followed an assessment from the French DGA military procurement agency on DAHER-SOCATA’s compliance with standards for military aircraft maintenance at these locations.

FRA 145 approval confirms the high levels of quality and safety in our company’s maintenance services for government aircraft, which increase aircraft dispatch reliability – helping to meet the French Ministry of Defense’s budgetary constraints,” said DAHER-SOCATA President and CEO Stéphane Mayer. "The development of government aircraft maintenance business is a part of DAHER-SOCATA’s strategy to expand its overall activities in the defense sector. DAHER-SOCATA is looking forward to FRA 145 approval for the full fleet of piston and turboprop liaison and training aircraft that it maintains for the French military. This involves an inventory more than 150 aircraft at 11 different bases with an activity of 55,000 flight hours per year, and is composed of the following single- and twin-engine aircraft types: the SOCATA TB 30 Epsilon, Grob 120, Cirrus SR 20 and 22, SAN Jodel D.140, Mudry CAP 10 and Embraer 121 Xingu.

DAHER-SOCATA announced today the appointment of Jet Mach as TBM aircraft distributor for Mexico.

Monterey-based Jet Mach has 21 years of experience executing aircraft transactions worldwide with extensive technical and market knowledge. The company offers a full range of services, including charter, maintenance, hangar storage, fleet management, interiors completion and painting. We have sold more than 60 aircraft with value exceeding $800 million dollars, which positions our company as a major player in the business aviation market in Latin America,” explained Rene Garza, President and Founder of Mach Jet. “We found that the TBM 850 very fast turboprop, especially with its outstanding performance from high altitude airports in Northern Mexico, was just the plane we need to complete our offer”.

With a fleet of 1161 turbine aircraft today, Mexico is the fifth largest market for business aircraft after the U.S., the European Union, Brazil and Canada,” explained Nicolas Chabbert, Senior Vice President of DAHER-SOCATA’s Airplane business unit. “Jet Mach was very interested in our TBM aircraft and had an impressive sales record in representing leading aircraft manufacturers of large jets or helicopters, making it an obvious choice for us”.

“We share common values such as team work, integrity, skills and experience – all of which are key to lasting success in the Latin America business aviation market,” he added.

DAHER-SOCATA announced the release of its latest “My TBM docs” application, which is available at no cost for Apple’s iPad. This 1.3.2 version, downloadable from Apple’s App Store, offers free access for registered operators and owners to full, constantly-updated technical documentation for all TBM 700 and TBM 850 very fast turboprop aircraft models – including the Internal Parts Catalog, Maintenance Manual and Pilot Information Manual.

The available documents represent more than 40,000 pages of information in PDF format and are fully searchable, easing the use of documentation and providing more information to aircraft operators. The library also features a video section for educational pieces. A briefcase section enables the user to tag preferred documents for on-ground preparation of flight operations. This application was created internally by DAHER-SOCATA’s documentation team, with the assistance of DAHER Information Services at its parent company. Our team worked very hard to develop and design a practical application to pilots and users of the TBM. Its real-time updates allow use of the most current data for safe operations," said Nicolas Chabbert, Senior Vice President of the DAHER-SOCATA Airplane business unit. “This is another step to provide useful paperless information which can be reviewed anytime. DAHER-SOCATA unveiled the new version of “My TBM docs” at the TBM Owners and Pilots Association Convention, which was held September 24-27 in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.

FAA records show that the 1996 Socata TBM 700 was registered just nine days before it left Gadsden, Alabama, on a flight to Montrose, Colorado, on Saturday. It crashed into a reservoir about 25 miles from the destination airport. The turboprop single was registered to an Alabama LLC, and made a fuel stop in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, before continuing the trip to Colorado. The NTSB briefed reporters that the pilot told air traffic controllers the airplane was in a spin; then communications broke off. The so-far unidentified pilot and four passengers (two of elementary school age, according to ABC News) have yet to be recovered and are presumed to be contained in the main wreckage, which sank in water that is 60 to 90 feet deep.

According to reports, the turboprop single hit the water about 90 feet from shore, in full view of a wedding party gathered nearby. Several witnesses described the TBM as emerging from a low, thick overcast and spinning. So far, only the tail has been recovered, though it was not clear if it separated from the main wreckage before or after impact. At press time, divers had not been able to reach the main wreckage, due to heavy silt in the reservoir in Ridgway State Park in southeastern Colorado. They used sonar to locate the airplane, and have brought in a remote control underwater robot to aid in the recovery operation. (Flying)
