  1. Australia Spoke. Cirrus® Listened. The All-New Special Edition Australis™
Duluth based airframer Cirrus is breaking into the Australian market. How? They are using the SR22 but in a special edition version dubbed, 'Australis'. It is specially tailored for the Australian market in that it is anticipated to cope with the climate, conditions and remote areas in which pilots have to fly into and out of in Australia. “At Cirrus we take pride in first listening to our customers and then incorporating that input and feedback into the design of the airplane. When we do, we don't just deliver an airplane, but instead a lasting aviation experience that exceeds our owners’ and operators’ expectations,” said Todd Simmons, Executive Vice President and Chief Customer Officer of Cirrus Aircraft. “Australis is the latest example of our unique approach. This Special Edition aircraft provides Australian aviators with an exclusive aircraft solution that is fine-tuned to their operating environment and just stunning on the apron.”

In addition to the regular CAPS (Cirrus Airframe Parachute System) -that is found on Cirrus Aircraft-, the Australis has air conditioning and specially treated UV windows are standard on every special edition model of this SR22. Furthermore, The UV protection has been shown to reduce solar energy by up to 30 percent, keeping the cabin cooler on the ramp and protecting both the occupants and interior surfaces from UV exposure. Standard accessories include a 4-person survival bag, personal locator beacon, claw tie-down system and a two-year AVPLAN subscription. Aesthetically, the Australis features a bespoke interior and exterior design available in two very distinctive trim levels. Australis Premium™ stands apart with a custom designed two-tone paint exterior and an array of premium accent color options that aim to capture the hues of Australia. The Australis Premium interior includes bolstered leather seats with contrast stitching, carbon fiber accents on the instrument panel and polished lights and vents throughout the cabin. The notable Southern Cross of the Australian flag has been artfully branded into the aircraft interior that extends to the exterior paint scheme, and is sure to grab attention wherever the aircraft is flown or parked. The Australis made its debut to Australia and the world at the recently concluded Australian International Airshow and Aerospace and Defense Exposition – AVALON.
