  1. Cirrus Secures 74-Aircraft Order at ABACE 2015

The 2015 ABACE is off and running and news is that Duluth-based airframer Cirrus nabbed 74-aircraft order from a Chinese operator. The majority of the order is for aircraft from their piston line but they also did get the nod for six (6) SF50 jets, the top-end of Cirrus' line. Company distributor GDAT is apparently the client of the entire purchase. It is anticipated that they (GDAT) will use the SF50 business jets for tourist flights. The single engine revolutionary jets will actually be operated by a company called Dragon Technology. The other 68 aircraft in the order will be from the SR line of prop aircraft of Cirrus.
  2. GDAT will take delivery of the aircraft over the next couple of years. To further detail the breakdown, GDAT will take delivery of 60 of the SR-line aircraft while AviClub is expected to have 8 of them. Like most of the jet manufacturers, Cirrus is keeping its eyes on China and with an estimated 100 Cirrus company aircraft flying around in the region there is reason from the company to want to have a greater thrust. To solidify this thrust, Cirrus is looking in the longterm of having a facility established in the Zhuhai area to produce SR-line Cirrus aircraft.
