NetJets announced its order for 25 new Latitude aircraft in Aug 2012. Deliveries are expected in 2016.
Maximum altitude in the new Citation X is 51,000 ft. for the ability to fly above weather patterns and commercial traffic.
The new Citation X is cleared to operate at Mach 0.935 when it enters service and become the fastest non-military aircraft in the world, Cessna says today in a press release. The US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) validated mid-size jet’s speed mark as part of the ongoing airworthiness certification programme, Cessna says.

Cessna parent Textron said it will buy Beechcraft for about USD$1.4 billion in cash, in a deal that sees Textron expand its aviation business. Beechcraft emerged from bankruptcy protection in February and was seeking buyers for its jet plane business which has been losing money. Textron, which also makes the Bell helicopter, said it plans to finance the deal through a combination of available cash and up to USD$1.1 billion in new debt. The deal is one of the largest after a US budget agreement that could set off the most robust series of mergers and acquisitions in the aerospace and military sectors in years. In case Beechcraft is able to find a higher bidder, it will be liable to pay a termination fee of USD$48 million to Textron, Beechcraft said in a statement. (Reuters)

Best of all, no extra modifications or hardware are needed to get the extra carrying capacity. (FM)
